AY 2011

December 21, 2011: Three M1 students presented their posters. We also had Year-end Party.
December 20, 2011: Winter Lab Seminar.
December 19, 2011: Four B4 students successfully presented their projects.
December 8-10, 2011: We presented three papers at 2011 IEEE Conf. on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2011).
November 28-December 2, 2011: We presented two papers at 1st Asian Conf. on Pattern Recognition.
November 19-20, 2011: We presented two papers at the 54th Conf. on Automatic Control.
November 9-12, 2011: We demonstrated two projects (mobile robot and humanoid robot) at 2011 International Robot Expo, in Tokyo.
October 8-9, 2010. A mobile robot localization system was presented at Open Campus at Toyota Technical College.
September 15-16, 2011: Lab summer trip to Inuyama (Camping).
September 8, 2011: Prof. Miura was nomiated as a Fellow of Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ).
Septempber 7-9, 2011: Prof. Miura presented a paper: "Stereo-based Outdoor Localization using a Line Drawing Building Map" at ECMR-2011, Orebro, Sweden.

October 18-22, 2010. Prof. Miura presented a paper, "Observation Planning for Environment Information Summarization with Deadlines" at IROS-2010 in Taipei, Taiwan.
October 9-10, 2010. A mobile robot localization system was presented at Open Campus at Toyota Technical College.
October 5-6, Mr. Shigemura (M1) presented a paper, "People Movement Simulation in Public Space and Its Application to Robot Motion Planner Development." at ICAM-2010 in Osaka, Japan.
October 1, 2010. Dr. Satake was promoted to an Assistant Professor.
September 29, 2010. Mr. Igi Ardiyanto arrived at TUT to enter the Master's course taught in English in October 2010.
September 23, 2010. Mr. Masuzawa, who graduated from our lab in March 2010, received a Young Researcher Promotion Award from the Robotics Society of Japan.
September 22-24, 2010. Prof. Miura presented a paper, "on-line observation planner and its RTC implementation" at RSJ-2010, Nagoya, Japan.
September 11-12, 2010. Lab summer trip to Gero hotsprings, Gifu prefecture, Japan.
September 7, 2010. Mr. Pawel Lukasz Niechoda arrived at TUT as a short-term exchange student from Finland.
September 5-7, 2010. Prof. Miura presented a paper, "A Hierarchical SLAM for Uncertain Range Data", at MFI-2010 in Salt Lake City, UT, USA.
August 30 - September 1, 2010. Prof. Miura presented a paper, "Development of a Person Following Robot and Its Experimental Evaluation" at IAS-11 in Ottawa, Canada.

August 26, 2010. Inter-lab sports competition was held.
August 24-27, 2010. A short course on mobile robot localization was presented to three highschool students.
